I have been thinking….

LOL.. that ususally isnt a good thing, but in this case I think it will be. Every year we celebrate Easter, on Palm Sunday with my husband’s family. We all look forward to this day because it is usually the only time we all can get together, which is sad since we dont live that far apart.. just over the border in Wisconsin. Every year, I bring an Easter treat for each of the cousins. I noticed last year, how difficult it is getting bringing these Easter treats, since they are all now teen-age and above. Hmmm what do teen-agers and young adults love? Fast food !!!
Im going to decorate the pillow box cut from the Easter cartridge and fill it with a gift card from MAC’s. Im sure they all eat there occasionally. I will post them as soon as I finish them. 🙂
Have a great evening

Card day today!!

Card challenge day again… so I followed the challenge sketches and this is what I came up with..

1. All CM Paper- (of course) The flowers were cut from the Lifes a beach cartridge The rest is from george. I used the CM foam squares to pop the circles off the page, along with the yellow flower. The sentiment is created using the CM Storybook Plus software. one of my favorites

2. I decided to do a male card, since they are the hardest to come up with. Again, this is all CM paper. All squares are cut from the George Cartridge, and the dragonfly is from the Camp out cartridge. The sentiment is created using the CM Storybook Plus software. I love that I can create my own stamps… storage is great too. Just store them in my computer.

3. All CM aper again. I have wanted to use some of the intricut cuts from the new Mothers Day cartridge for a while, so I used it for this card. The circles and squares are from the George Cartridge, the title “happy Birthday” is from the sweet treats cartridge and the flower and intricut cuts are from Mothers Day cartridge.

4. We had to do a card without any square edges at all. Thought of this cute chick on the Easter cartridge, and thought it was perfect. I decided to dress it up a bit with some glitter on its beak… I used the Hello Kitty cartrige for the word PEEP, and welded it together with my gypsy.

what is digitally endorsed?

Creative Memories offered a training, that allowed me to get Digitally Endorsed…. so what does that mean? It means i had to first of all pass the training, and I now am certified to help you get your pictures in Storybooks, or print them, or yes, create storybooks FOR you. With all the design ability Storybook Creator has, I thought it was very important to go ahead with the training. Need any help, give me a jingle… I can help you through the problem.

I worked some more on my nieces book this weekend. I got to play in my crop room basically all day on Sunday… actually hide. My husband has been home way too much lately (not much work… he is an electrician) and I find that is the perfect place to hide. LOL

I have moved on to her junior year, and yet again have a prom page. My niece isnt the “pink” type so I struggled for a use of a color… I went through a bunch of my paper and came up with a dusty blue brown combination. Turned in very nice in my opinion. The title is cut from the Base Camp cricut cartridge…
I decided to play with the CM paper flowers. I cannot beleive how easy they are to use since they are all color coordinated. Just put a spot of glue from my Precision Point Adhesive (this IS one of my absolute favorite CM things) and put them together. When dry, you can play with the petals to make them come to life… I had some previously cut leaves lying around so I used them. I think it turned out well. I am very happy with it. It actually went together quite fast…

I have two nieces graduation from high school this year, so Im secretly making them each and album to put their pics in about high school. Im pretty sure they dont come peeking by here, so its safe to post some of the pages I have made. LOL

1. Prom pics… flower was cut from the stamping Cricut cartridge, words were cut from the Storybook cart, and the swirly flourish leaves were cut from Ashlyns alphabet. All paper is from Creative Memories.

2. Also a prom picture page. Shell border was cut from the borders section of the cart Straight from the Nest Title.. first letter was from storybook, the rest of the words from Wild card.Paper is Creative Memories retired prints. Flowers are Creative Memories paper flowers, and I added some pen work.

prom 2

More cards that will go out for fairy cards…
the first one I made the border with my gypsy. Mostly george cartridge here. I tried crumpled flowers. You cut them out (the rounder ones work best) and then you flatten them out. I added a button from my sewing stuff in the middle. Im not happy with the crumpled flowers yet. I will continue to play with these… more layers perhaps?

For my second card, I used the paisley cart for the owl, the home decor for the branch and the rest was with the george cart. All papers are retired Creative Memories papers. I added some eye buttons and the card was finished.

Making my own digital stamps

People have asked how I do this, and my answer is Storybook Creator Plus 3.0.
I will explain.
I find a clipart I would like to use.. generally from Microsoft word

The next step is to use the wand tool, and remove any outside edges to the clipart.

then, I right click and hit rubber stamp.

I can also change the color in this section, like to green.

I then copy/paste until I get the shape I want. In this case, I want to make a wreath

Then I hold down my shift key, and select each piece… then hit group

Then I decide I want to add a bow

I then size the bow and regroup all of the pieces together

I then can make multiples of that wreath, or go ahead and right click and change it to a digital stamp, which would allow me to color it in with markers.
